To me, BKLYN Designs is a lot more than just a well curated exhibition of contemporary furnishings – its a chance to celebrate the true creative culture that is alive and booming in the borough. From the thriving DUMBO neighborhood in which the show takes place to the friendship and common threads that are evident amongst the exhibitors, there is a sense of community unlike any other. For three beautiful days this weekend, the cobble-stone streets were filled with trade, press, consumers and of course trendy families pushing their Bugaboo, Graco or Peg-Pérego strollers. With camera in hand, I hit the show running. Here’s a look at the some of my favorite moments:

Design junkies Chris Kraig and Chip Cordelli. These two Brooklynites were like kids in a candy store – they just couldn’t get enough. Here they are showing off their new s.w.a.g from exhibitor FunkinFunction, a scrap-bin sister company to Daniel Moyer Design & Fabrication.

Leaders in each of their respective fields: Linda O’Keeffe, director Design + Architecture, Metropolitan Home ; Mark Kessler, Interim President Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce; Ralph Pucci, the icon behind Ralph Pucci International.

Cutting-edge products, cute BKLYN exhibitors, captivating lectures, cool parties and a contemporary setting – what more could a girl ask for?
