With so many launch parties constantly streaming our way, it’s hard to choose which ones to attend. However, TODA’s unveiling for Frighetto’s Pouf Pot and Bean chairs – the brainchild of designer and architect Mark Naden – on October 29th surely did not disappoint.

Situated in a great section of Tribeca, New York, we stopped by the new event space ROOM Studio to participate in a literal round of musical chairs. All of the new models were on display in an ingeniously designed layout, which was also the vision of Mark Naden – the versatile architect, designer and founder of The Office of Design and Architecture.

We first settled ourselves into the Bean chair – a cool concept focusing on bare-bones structure but which is still comfortable enough to be a lounge chair. It comes in a variety of finishes and fabrics, with a stool version now in the works. Then we moved onto the adaptable Pouf Pot, which can function as a stool or a chair and is available for both indoor and outdoor use. Undoubtedly a great conversation piece, we thought it could also double as a gorgeous sculpture.

By the end of the night, with our bellies full from tantalizing cocktails and h’ors d’oeuvres, we walked away decidedly wanting one of each of Naden’s designs for our own. Check them out yourselves at Domus Design Collection and keep your eyes peeled for more funky Naden creations!
