On March 26th, Design Industries Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) will launch its 12th national tour of the seminal event Dining by Design in New York to raise money for AIDS service organizations across the country. Over the course of five days, renowned designers, budding creatives and culinary luminaries will join forces to bring you scintillating 3-dimensional dining installations topped with delectable treats. Returning to the show is the popular Student Design Initiative, which launched in 2008.  Last year’s display, which included installations from FIT, NYU, Parsons, Pratt and SVA were both imaginative and inspirational.  We cannot wait to see what’s in store this year.  In the meantime, here’s some shots from ’08 to get you in the mood.

For the first time, this year’s Big Apple show also coincides with the Architectural Digest Home Design Show. Luckily, they’ve made it extremely easy to see both shows. In addition to sharing the same pier, discounted joint tickets will be available.
