Publicolor, Publicolor, Publicolor Number One

My thanks to the New York Design Center for the invitation to Publicolor’s Stir, Splatter + Roll celebration at Martin Luther King Junior High School in NYC.  For those unfamiliar with the Publicolor, it is a not-for-profit organization that uses “color, collaboration, design and the painting process to re-engage students in their education, schools and communities: to ultimately transform them into productive members of the workforce.” On Tuesday, the brightest stars, from honoree Mary Boone to fashion designer Michael Kors to NYC Mayor Bloomberg, battled the rain to show their support of this amazing organization. And the Publicolor kids were there too – welcoming us at the door, sharing their experiences and…painting, of course!  They didn’t call the event “stir, splatter + roll” for nothing.  In fact, there were 25 different tabletops that needed some color in their lives.  So before the dinner, we all suited up in our Tyvek jumpsuits and painted! Needless to say, it was an evening to remember.

To all of our readers, we hope that you will visit the Publicolor website (which is very creative and fun) and show your support too.
