Following the announcement of this year’s Abraaj Capital Art Prize winners, the Museum of Art and Design in New York is opening a fabulous exhibit on August 26th. The MAD Museum will showcase the award winners in an exhibit lasting until October 4th. It will be located in the Museum’s Design and Innovation Gallery, which seeks to draw attention to trends in emerging artists. The private equity company Abraaj Capital, which is located in Dubai, established the fellowship to gain exposure for artists from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA), This regions rich culture and long traditions strongly influenced the prize winners work, the Iran’s Nazgol Ansarinia, Algeria’s Zoulikha Bouabdellah and Tukey’s Kutlug Ataman. This exhibit promises to be diverse, exciting and like nothing you have seen before, it will definitely be worth the trip.
