The Home of Scandinavian Design

On the West Coast of Norway, nestled in the small town of Dale on a grand fjord, is Transplant, a one-of-a-kind design concept. We have posted their events on the calendar, so we thought it was about time our readers learned what Transplant is all about. The concept was to create a center for designers to come together and gather inspiration, and with a conference center, materials archive and exhibition space this is exactly what Transplant has achieved. Located on the edge of Dalefjorden the architecturally unique modern glass building has spectacular views of the majestic and dramatic landscape typical of Norway’s West Coast, and I can only imagine the amazing inspiration this must provide. Everything from kitchen accessories to packaging and interior designs have been developed here, all incorporating cutting edge design and functionality. Until August 15th they are showing an exhibition titled “The Cycle of Mutation,” which is in the theme of disappearance. Throughout the summer they are also hosting a Summer Bar every Saturday, where you can enjoy a drink and the magnificent scenery. If you are ever visiting Norway, Transplant is definitely worth the trek into the wild Norwegian nature, or at you can check out their website,, to learn more about their work and upcoming projects.
