Organized by the Cooper Hewitt, this celebration showcases the best in American design. The weeklong educational event includes free admission for all museum visitors and a series of public programs surrounding the National Design Awards. Today, the National Design Award winners will participate in a panel discussion about the state of contemporary design in America. Also on the agenda is a session on the Business of Design, in which business leaders discuss how design impacts their overall strategy and affects their bottom line. The main event, the Awards ceremony and dinner, will be held on the 22nd.  It’s a ticketed affair with sponsor tickets beginning at $1,250 each. And just like any posh awards party, there is always an After-Party. The price tag is reasonable (only $100 for members and $125 for non-members) and the guests are top caliber.
