Vladimir Kagan at Ralph Pucci International

Imagine an event in which the realms of art, fashion, and design harmoniously co-exist, and you’ll find yourself right smack in the middle of the Ralph Pucci New York showroom on the opening night of Variations on Vladimir, an exhibition of the designer Vladimir Kagan’s sculpture and debut of his limited-edition fiberglass chair.  The opening event on Thursday night was a real nod to the avant-garde. Kagan’s chairs, sculptural works in their own right, were complemented by the shadowy photographs of the artistic duo Michner Spindler. The signature mannequins produced by Ralph Pucci’s studio were propped throughout the space as uncannily immobile partygoers, outfitted in ensembles by designer Angelo Katsapis. Even the music at the event was “well orchestrated”, culminating in a special performance by the String Orchestra of New York City.
