ROCK N’ ROLL: Furniture and lighting by Diesel and Moroso and Foscarini AT THE FUTURE PERFECT

By natalie

From one of our favorite design stores in the city comes some truly cool news. The Future Perfect’s Great Jones location in lower Manhattan now carries “Successful Living”, a collection of furniture and lighting from the talented partnership of fashion label Diesel and the Italian furniture and lighting brands Moroso and Foscarini.  Moroso and Foscarini teamed up with the avant-garde fashion brand, notorious for its tongue-in-cheek advertising campaigns, to develop, in the words of Patrizia Moroso, “an interesting and alternative collection idea,” composed of two different looks, “Camp” and “Rock”.  Camp encompasses objects with a softer, more vintage aesthetic, while Rock includes such pieces as the XRadio 2 Disc low table, with the X-ray of a DJ console printed on glass in nocturnal colors ranging from electric blue to black.  With a look that screams rock n’ roll, the collection is destined to do well in a neighborhood that is considered a hallowed site in rock n’ roll history – located between Bowery and Lafayette, The Future Perfect’s Great Jones Street store is not so far away from the location of the now defunct CBGB, mecca for such groups as the Patti Smith band and the Ramones.

The collection is on view at The Future Perfect Great Jones from now to May 3, 2010.
