100% Norway = 100% Great Design

By Matthew

Having grown up surrounded by fabulous Norwegian design, I am thrilled to see that 100% Norway is back at London Design Festival for the seventh year running, and its going to be better than ever! Often considered the little brother of Scandinavian design, with Sweden, Finland and Denmark leading the way, Norway is quickly catching up and making a major name for itself within the international design community.

Established names, along with debuts by up and coming designers will be present to create a unique scene adding flair to Scandinavian design. Highlights include the debut of Anderssen & Voll, along with Andreas Engesvik, since the trio split from Norway Says last year.  The creators of the edgy DUO sofa are sure to have something groundbreaking up their sleeves. Hallgeir Homstvedt is also showing a new version of his innovative mirror bowls, in addition to a fresh variety of  Øyvind Wyller’s Sauherad table and chairs, combining traditional wood with contemporary lines. Some more established Norwegian designers will also be on hand, including the launch of Stryn Møbelindustri into the UK market, producing elegant and chic wood furniture.

The London Design Festival celebrates every aspect of design, bringing together all disciplines in one of the world’s creative centers. If you’re lucky enough to be in London between September 18th and the 26th be sure to snag a pass to experience some of today’s most innovative design concepts, including some soon-to-be industry leaders at 100% Norway, and that’s not just national pride speaking.
