Country Living in the Heart of the City

By Matthew

Last week Country Living opened the doors to its 2010 House of the Year right here in New York, on the Hudson River in the Financial District to be exact. Having hopped on the green bandwagon Country Living teamed up with New World Home, one of the fastest growing producers of sustainable housing, to put together the ideal environmentally friendly home. For those of us who cannot wait until the November issue of Country Living to take a peek at the house, it is open through June 17th for free tours. The editors at Country Living, with the help of interior designer Katie Ridder, have picked out every last detail of the exterior and interior of the house, focusing on sustainable products and the use of bold colors. Together, Country Living, Katie Ridder and New World Home, have combined classic American architecture, all expected 21st century amenities, and forward thinking green technology to create “Hudson,” a home that embodies the casual and comfortable Country Living image.
