As its name implies, the Elle Decor A-List celebration at the New York Design Center on June 10 was just that.  The industry’s top designers were greeted by Margaret Russell and Jim Druckman after they passed through the vibrant magenta foyer.  Inside they found lush vertical gardens and an abundance of spectacular bright pink peonies mimicking the entrance walls.

Elle Decor’s inaugural A-List, which can be seen in the June issue, recognizes the talent of 30 authentic tastemakers whose style reflect the passions of the magazine—refined luxury, serious comfort, and snappy ideas.  Nearly all of these inspiring and influential designers gathered together to celebrate.  Guests mingled in the showroom, transformed for the evening, enjoying champagne and hors d’oeuvres, posing for Patrick McMullan and chatting with the ElleDecor.com correspondent.  The 2010 A-List includes Jeffrey Bilhuber, Muriel Brandolini, Darryl Carter, Eric Cohler, Robert Couturier, Waldo Fernandez, Steven Gambrel, Victoria Hagan, Suzanne Kasler, Charlotte Moss, Joe Nahem, Thomas O’Brien, Alex Papachristidis, Miles Redd, Katie Ridder, Stephen Sills, Michael S. Smith, Matthew Patrick Smyth, William Sofield, Robert Stilin, Madeline Stuart, Steven Volpe, Kelly Wearstler, Bunny Williams and Vincente Wolf, plus five to watch; Jesse Carrier, Oliver M. Furth, Grant K. Gibson, Katie Lydon and Marie Turner.

The NYDC was honored to co-host this event with Elle Decor and Kohler Interiors; Baker, McGuire and Kallista.  It was truly a night to remember. I am already anticipating next year’s A-List, which is sure to be filled with an equally fresh group of talent that will continue to inspire the industry.
