HON Company and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
By eva
When disaster struck a pre-school in Nashville, TN, the HON Company in conjunction with ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” came together to turn a flood’s ravenous wreckage into a collection of new design savvy classrooms. The HON Company generously outfitted the entire preschool with their award winning SmartLink classroom furniture systems as well as the complete furnishings for the school’s new administrative offices. The SmartLink system debuted in 2008 and came from extensive research with designers, teachers, principals and students to determine what type of furniture was needed for the modern classroom. The foundation of SmartLink is based of the premise of how furniture is able to foster interaction, provide necessary organization and adaptable to the ever-changing technologies used in today’s educational settings. HON’s vice president of marketing, Shelley deSilva, made these encouraging words on the partnership with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, “As an Iowa-based company, our own community knows firsthand the tragedy Mother Nature and floods of this proportion can inflict. HON has made it a corporate practice to extend a helping hand whenever possible, and our members also personally rally to volunteer when disasters like this occur.” So check out the episode premiering November 7th on ABC and see how great design and community involvement can come together to change the disastrous past into a promising future.
And Congratulations to our PR friends at Veeder + Perman for landing this amazing new client!
