The Scent of Design

This blog post comes to you from one of the newest additions to the Design-Calendar team, Lauren Nicole Hill.  While we’re working on her headshot (the photo shoot is progress), she couldn’t wait to write about her first night out on the design scene.

Wednesday evening was the launch of Molton Brown’s new home fragrance collection, medio candela. Hosted by the New York Design Center on Lexington Avenue, Molton Brown asked PROFILES furniture designers to pair a medio candela scent to their furniture designs. Barbara Ross and Lauder Bowden, Nicholas Calder, Daniel Heighes Wismer and Gregory Dufner, Kirsten Brant, and Laura Kirar showed how a fragrance could transform and enhance a room.

The partnership between aroma and design completed the PROFILES collection and guests waited anxiously to hear the inspiration for the designer’s chosen fragrance.  Cocktails and treats added to the celebration and guests left with a trail of smells in the air and an array of gifts to take home.  Thank you to NYDC, Molton Brown and PROFILES for a very fun evening!
