When Jewelry & Interior Design Intersect

By alexandra

Jewelry lovers and design aficionados in the nation’s capital should keep this on their radar…The Washington Design Center’s 2011 DreamHome, March 18th-December 9th. A unique concept, rooms in this design showhouse were furnished and “bejeweled” by eight interior decorators, who each used jewelry from local designers as inspiration for their design motifs. All furnishings, fabric, rugs and wall coverings were sourced from the Washington Design Center’s permanent showrooms.  The DreamHome will be open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m at the Washington Design Center, 300 D Street, S.W. Washington, DC 20024.

An opening reception will take place Thursday, March 17th, 5 – 8 p.m. at the center – a great chance to meet the designers and see the jewelry over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Admission is $20, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting The Department of Pediatrics at Georgetown University Hospital.
