D-C Weekend Edition: Restoration Hardware Gets New East Hampton Digs

By alexandra

On Saturday we escaped the city and headed to summery East Hampton for the opening of a brand new Restoration Hardware on Main Street.  Hosted by Gary Friedman, Chairman  & Co-CEO of the premium home furnishings retailer and Town & Country Editor-in-Chief Jay Fielden, the soirée benefitted God’s Love We Deliver and Guild Hall of East Hampton. Delicious bites from Creative Edge, yummy donuts from Dreesens and Bellinis from Cipriani fueled our tour around the gorgeous two-story space. In addition to a wide range of chic meubles, objets d’art and home accessories, we loved the delicate chandeliers ensconced in industrial metal, which were hung in various rooms throughout the store. We were also particularly drawn to a “propane fire table” made from heat-resistant fibercast concrete.  Called the “Laguna,” the piece is composed of tempered glass panels, which prevent the tiny propane-ignited tealights in its center from being extinguished by passing breezes.  The pièce de résistance of the store, however, was definitely its fully furnished elevator.  Outfitted with elegant velvet chairs, wall scones and decorative pillows, it was a popular attraction at the party with guests lining up for a quick ride in the moveable lounge. With a Design Within Reach around the corner and more design stores on the rise out East, we have a feeling it won’t be the last time we cover design in the area!

Wanted to leave with one of these chandeliers!
