World Design Capital Preview in New York

Ever wonder which city is the considered the world’s design capital?

Every other year, The World Design Capital award is given to one city that is leveraging design as a tool to improve the social, cultural and economic lives of their residents. Helsinki was appointed World Design Capital 2012 last year at the Iscid World Design Congress in Singapore, and is now gearing up for an entire design programming!

An exclusive preview of the year-long World Design Capital Helsinki program, along with a first look at the MAD World Design Capital Helsinki pop-up shop, will be presented at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City on October 21st. The preview begins at 9 AM. Ambassador Ritva Jolkkonen, Deputy Mayor of Helsinki Pekka Sauri, architect Steven Holl, and Director of Communications for WDC  will  do a presentation starting promptly at 9:30 AM. The event runs until 11 AM.
