The American Design Club’s most recent design exhibit, Raw + Unfiltered, featured works that explored the use of raw materials and unfiltered processes. Materials were used in uncommon ways and many of captivating and functional pieces were created using minimal manipulation and simple processes. The show featured established designers and newcomers alike, including Bec Brittain, Aria Mcmanus, Mark Dineen, Fort Standard, and Taylor McKenzie Veal. The American Design Club was established in New York in 2008 to encourage camaraderie among designers and to allow designers to gain promotion by displaying their work at exhibitions, hosted events or online. The show ended last week but here’s a look at the designers and the stories behind the show.
