Every fall tends to bring to mind the same color palette– earthy neutrals in various shades of brown and beige. It may be comforting and classic, but it’s nothing new. Until this season. Top fabric purveyor Robert Allen has partnered with popular home line DwellStudio for a fall collection full of playful patterns and bold brights: Modern Color Theory.
On Wednesday, I was able to get a sneak peek of the collection at the amazing and inspiring Robert Allen Design Studio, hosted by their VP of design Christy Almond, design director Hannah Alderson, and DwellStudio’s Christiane Lemieux.
The collection perfectly encompasses DwellStudio’s trend knowledge and Robert Allen’s color leadership. In-your-face primary colors are paired with clean neutrals, making them accessible for the everyday home environment. The patterns are funky yet classic, featuring cool textured stripes and graphically illustrated florals. And of course, how can we get forget DwellStudio’s love of animal motifs! “This season, we really fell in love with the gazelle,” remarked Lemieux.
Caravan was one of my favorites, too, especially in the darker Copper colorway of cinnamon and grey blue. Other favorites were Crosby, a Scandinavian-esque floral, and Malakos, a mineral-inspired graphic.
The Robert Allen team loves Kings Walk, a regal lion fabric, and Landsmeer, a stunning watercolor floral available in 3 colors, including a punch pink.
