By heba

National Design Week is almost here! Since 2006, the week has been hosted by the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, which offers a wide range of public programs and online resources in celebration of the National Design Awards and in honor of the important role design plays in enriching all aspects of our daily lives.

The National Design Awards gala ceremony, which will take place on Wednesday, October 17 at Pier Sixty on the Hudson River in New York, recognizes the best in American design across a range of disciplines. Additional programming and events will take place nationwide for design aficionados of all ages, including the Teen Design Fair, the Target Design Kids series, and a tour of the Theodore Roosevelt U.S. Courthouse. All Cooper-Hewitt programs are free and hosted by their award-winning Education Department. These programs are based on the visions and work of the National Design Awards honorees. National Design Week starts tomorrow, but in case you’re too excited to wait till then, you can shop a selection of merchandise by the National Design Award Winners here.
