Innovative thinking  – that is what the Van Alen Institute is all about. Today, the 120-year old institute announced the launch of Van Alen’s Auction of Design Experiences. Hosted by Paddle8, it features 30 unique, exclusive activities around the world with notable figures in art, architecture and design including a home cooked dinner with MoMa curator Paola Antonelli, cocktails with Richard Meier or a private helicopter ride with photographer Iwan Baan. Sounds super cool – huh? We thought so. Check it out. Proceeds from the auction benefit the Institute’s design competitions, research investigations, and public programs that shape the public conversation and bring design excellence to sites around the world.

And don’t forget to purchase your ticket to the Van Alen Institute Spring Party on Wednesday May 21 at the High Line Hotel. It’s a busy week, but hey, what’s one more event?!?!
