Archtober & Open House NY Unlock the City

By jacqui

You say October, I say Archtober. Across New York City, a month-long festival of architecture comprising exhibitions, panels, and tours both on land and water is taking placeā€”all in celebration of the city’s built environment in its myriad forms. A feature of the program is the architect-led Building of the Day series, which offers rare access to the interiors and grounds of 31 of the most intriguing structures and spaces in the five boroughs, from the offices of creative enablers Kickstarter to Post-Disaster Urban Interim Housing in Brooklyn. Speaking of open access, the 12th annual Open House New York Weekend will open many, many doors across the city this Saturday, October 11th and Sunday the 12th, with hundreds of sites and tours packed into two days, including a series curated by Interior Design magazine. It’s New York City unlocked!
