Culture.PL Makes Graphic Statement at WantedDesign

By Lucy

Following their WantedDesign debut in 2014, our friends from Poland are back! Culture.PL will present at 2015’s show, this time with a focus on graphic design in the exhibit InsideOut. With three parts — hand-made, hand-produced, and hand-thought — the exhibit showcases the breadth of Polish design, displaying the starting point, the process, and the final result of these incredible pieces.

The show will also mark the US debut of Culture.PL’s new book VeryGraphic: Polish Designers of the 20th Century. This comprehensive history of Polish graphic design features the country’s achievements in posters, books and covers, typography, logos, packaging, and more. To celebrate the book’s launch, its editor Jacek Mrowczyk will join InsideOut curator Agata Syzdlowska for the panel Inside Polish Graphic Design at WantedDesign on Sunday, May 17 from 10:30-11:30 AM. Senior Curator for the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum Ellen Lupton will moderate the discussion, and following, there will a book signing and Polish goodies (!!) back at the InsideOut space. We’ve also heard rumors of a poster giveaway…either way, this dynamic exhibit is on our hit list for NYC Design Week! We’ll see you there!
