If you have not yet had the chance to see the newly renovated Cooper Hewitt museum, this is the perfect occasion! With two outstanding exhibitions on view this summer, the Cooper Hewitt has never been so exciting!

PROVOCATIONS: THE ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN OF HEATHERWICK STUDIO

Provocations is the first museum exhibition to introduce the imaginative work of British designer Thomas Heatherwick and his London-based studio to an American audience. Heatherwick is known for his unique design concepts ranging from products, infrastructure and temporary structures, to large-scale architecture projects around the world.

On view from June 4, 2015 through January 3, 2016

DAVID ADJAYE SELECTS

Architect David Adjaye presents 14 West and Central African textiles from the museum’s permanent collection in the latest installment of the Selects series.

The London-based architect is acclaimed for this thoughtful, responsive design process, and for his global practice and approach; of Ghanaian descent, Adjaye combines the aesthetics of African and Islamic architecture with classically austere, modernist design. The exhibition he has curated brings focus to Cooper Hewitt’s collection of African textiles, including works from Ghana, Ivory Coast, and Nigeria, among other countries.

On view June 19, 2015 through February 14, 2016
