The Energetic City Forum: Rethinking NYC’s Edges

On Tuesday, January 26th, the BRIC House will host a multidisciplinary panel where Design Trust Project Partners and Fellows will highlight their efforts to reimagine physical, social, and cultural assets and public space in NYC’s five boroughs. Specifically, the program will explore connections and differences between two recently completed projects: Laying the Groundwork, design guidelines for ground-floor retail and community spaces in future mixed-use affordable housing developments and The World’s Park, a community design school where Queens residents developed proposals to improve the access and circulation of Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The forum will also discuss two projects that are about to commence, Opening the Edge and Future Culture.

Not only is this a great way to learn about how we can activate and redefine the city’s public space in our own communities, but attendees are also eligible for a 1.5 AIA LU | HSW continuing education credits.
