Richard Meier | ||||||
We had the pleasure of meeting him in Chicago in 2007 and are super excited to have this eminent American architect right here in our backyard (maybe not the right term to use when referring to NYC) on June 3. Thanks to Taschen and The Architect’s Newspaper, Richard Meier will sign copies of his magnificent 568 page monograph featuring his impressive internationally acclaimed body of work. The Pritzker Prize Laureate collaborated closely with graphic designer Massimo Vignelli, editor Philip Jodidio and author Alberto Campo Baeza on this exceptional volume, entitled Richard Meier and Partners, Complete Works 1963-2008. | When: June 3, 2008, 6:00-8:00PM

DUMBO’s First Thursday Gallery Walk
We were in DUMBO for BKLYN DESIGNS and to celebrate the 125th birthday of the Brooklyn Bridge and already it’s time to go back (we aren’t complaining – we love it there). Starting June 5 – the area referred to as Down Under the Manhattan Brooklyn Overpass will host its First Thursday Gallery Walk. Galleries and artists’ studios will be open from 5:30-8:30. Stop by Spring (126a Front St), have a drink and see what the “Revolution” is all about.

NeoCon | ||||||
After you browsed the hottest stores in Chicago, sampled some wine and maybe took a tour or two – it’s time to hit the Merchandise Mart for NeoCon. In addition to the many floors of exhibitors, there are keynote seminars by: Steven Levitt, Robert F. Kennedy and Scott Wilson, a handful of fabulous luncheons, networking dinners and special events galore. Interior Design is hosting Q&A sessions with eco-editor Penny Bonda on June 9 & 10 (booth 8-3130). Other highlights include the Contract Magazine’s Best of Neocon breakfast and panel discussion on June 8th as well as the IIDA Black Tie Celebration at the Westin River North Hotel. | When: June 9-11, 2008
